Day 2 (Tuesday) saw the Wildcat boys with two must win matches to advance through to the top 12. The mornings game against Northern Tasmania started as a tight back a forth contest but as the game wore on our transition offence made sure the margin kept growing. The boys defensive pressure was fantastic, forcing many turnovers and leading to a 68-30 final score.

Our 4.30pm game followed in a similar fashion with the boys defensive intensity and transition offence blowing Perry Lakes (WA) away in the first quarter. All boys contributed on the scoreboard and they reached the 100 point mark in the last minute of the game. Final score 100-41.

Tomorrow we move into the Final 12 round robins, with a tough contest against Norwood at 12:30pm (Court 5).

Game 2 — Southern Tasmania
A great game in the morning, we won by 51 points (70-19) against Southern Tasmania. We played as a team and our defensive pressure was really good. Our shooting was much better than yesterday and we had great energy throughout the game. After the match we headed back to the hotel and did recovery in the freezing cold pool. While some of us went with the fam “bam” others stayed and chilled out at the hotel until our next game against Southern Tigers.

Game 3 — Southern Tigers
We had good feelings about this game, we started warm up strong with lots of noise and that impacted on our performance in the game. We started well and pressured them on defence. The crowd was really loud and they started cheering so we cheered even louder. The 3rd quarter we took a step back, but then had an enthusiastic 4th quarter and finished with a win to secure 2nd place in our pool. Gob job girls. By Piper Bradford and Olivia Pearce.
