The Eltham Wildcats are excited to announce the signing of Illawarra Hawks Guard Angus Glover for the 2020 NBL1 season.
Playing only three games in the 2019 NBL1 season for the BA CoE, the 6’4 combo guard led the league in scoring with 23.6ppg including a season high 29 points against the Wildcats in July.
After suffering two ACL injuries in an 8 month span in 2017, Glover is in career best form playing in the NBL for his hometown Illawarra Hawks and averaging a career high 4.29ppg & 2.07rpg including a 17 point game against the Brisbane Bullets.
Glover is well positioned for a dominant 2020 NBL1 season according to Head Coach Trev Lee.
“He [Glover] is an elite player who has the ability to dominant both sides of the ball. This signing is an exciting one for our team, club and local community and we can’t wait to see him in a Wildcats uniform in 2020,” said Lee.
Glover is excited to take the team to the next level and join the Wildcats community.
“I’m looking forward to joining the club next year and go for a championship. We got a good group of guys that I’m looking forward to playing with and I can’t wait to get started.
“I know a lot of players coached by Trev, I have heard about the great connection the club has with its community including the single steam pathway the Wildcats provide for its juniors right through to senior levels.”
Angus will join previously announced players Adam Doyle, Geremy McKay, Mark Scherf and Christian Yammouni in the elite stream of high level basketball in Melbourne’s north-east. Stay tuned for more announcements to come.
