Working With Children & Member Protection Declaration

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS THIS NOTICE IS OF HIGH IMPORTANCE AND IS NOW LEGISLATION FOR THE PROTECTON OF YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

It has now been brought to our attention from Basketball Victoria that anyone who is or is intending to volunteer to be a Team Manager will require a Working with Children card. At the moment all Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Administration Staff, Office Staff, Committee Members, Grade Convenors, Referees, Referee Advisors and Clinic coaches over the age of 18 all must have a Working with Children card and a Member Protection Declaration (signed and witnessed).

If you are a teacher, in the police force or medical profession you will have already been screened and will only need to forward me a CLEAR COPY of your ID. Teachers will need to also send me a clear photo copy of their licence as there is no picture ID on your card.

A WWC card will last for 5 years and there is no cost as you will be classed as a Volunteer. The Declaration is for 2 years, a list of people who can sign the form is below for your convenience. CLICK HERE.
