Eastern Development League

The Eastern Development League (EDL) is a regional competition for athletes who were not selected for a Junior Representative team.

The competition has U12s – U16s Boys and Girls and is selected based on the outcomes of the Junior Representative trials. The competing associations include Eltham, Bulleen, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Darebin and Blackburn.

Session Times

Games: Fridays from 5.30pm in the eastern suburbs.

Trainings: Sunday evenings

  • Develop their core basketball skills in a structured and competitive environment
  • Support their growth and progression by preparing them for future opportunities in our Junior Representative teams
  • Build confidence and game experience through competitive regular match play

The EDL operates using a home-and-away system with grading rounds and multiple divisions (where possible). In the EDL, the focus is on player development, helping athletes improve their game and hopefully earn a spot on a Junior Representative team in future seasons.

We offer opportunities  to selected athletes in the Under 12s, 14s and 16s age groups.
