Rep Prep Program

Rep Prep is designed for junior domestic players who are not currently playing Junior Representative basketball, but are considering trialling for the Eltham Wildcats Junior Representative (VJBL) teams.

This program provides players with the opportunity to develop the skills and concepts required to meet the demands of Junior Representative basketball and prepare for the upcoming VJBL trials.

Rep Prep is open to all domestic players eligible to play in the U12 or U14 Junior Representative teams (VJBL) in the following season.

Frequently Asked Questions

The U12 and U14 Rep Prep program follows the age groups used in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), which are based on year of birth. These age groups differ from those used in the Junior Domestic (EDJBA) competition.

If your child was born between 2014 and 2018, they are eligible to register for this year’s Rep Prep program.

Any athlete who is not currently playing in an Eltham Wildcats Junior Representative team, falls within the U12 or U14 VJBL age groups, and is considering trialling for the upcoming season is eligible to register.

Rep Prep is intended for current Eltham Wildcats Junior Domestic players. However, if you would like to register your child, and are intending on trialling for Eltham’s Junior Representative teams, please contact info@elthamwildcats.net.au and we will add them to our waitlist.

Rep Prep is designed to develop the skills and game concepts expected of Junior Representative players, helping participants improve their readiness and their chances of being selected at trials.

It does not guarantee selection into a Junior Representative team.

Yes, athletes in the Eastern Development League (EDL) competition are eligible to register.

Rep Prep is designed for players who are looking to trial for a Junior Representative team and are not currently competing in the representative program. Current Junior Representative players are not eligible to register

We encourage you to register your child for Rep Prep, as it provides a great opportunity to strengthen their skills and develop their understanding of representative basketball. These are valuable foundations for any player considering representative basketball in the future.
Please note that registering for Rep Prep does not obligate your child to register for Junior Representative trials.
