Friday night was a packed house at Eltham High School as the Wildcats hosted the Magic in a special School Holidays double header. A win for the visiting Magic would see them take a top two spot from Eltham but the Wildcats would hit the ground running with a 33 point opening quarter then followed a defensive master piece in the second only allowing Hawthorn to score 8 points. The Magic fought back in the second half behind some great shooting from Smith & Kirksey but it wasn’t enough at the Wildcats held on to a 20 point win.

J. Kitto 11 points, M. Stagoll 8 points/ 7 rebounds, A. McBean 7 points/5 rebounds
The Wildcats struggled from the get go as the visiting Falcons got out early to a 10-2 lead and never looked back. A defiant Eltham group however won the final quarter (9-8) with a great performance from young star M. Stagoll and veteran J. Kitto.

After a close first half the Wildcats asserted their dominance in the third and fourth periods at Eltham High School on Friday night. Scherf would score a quick 5 points to open the third period as the lead would balloon to double figures going into the final quarter and would be too much for the Magic to get back. The win will have our Wildcats full of confidence going into their Elimination Final this Saturday afternoon (4pm) at Eltham High.

The Youth Women have gone down by 23 points after only being up by two points at halftime. The Wildcats gave up a 24-6 third period which was the major factor in the game. Eltham turned the ball over 10 times before they scored their first field goal at the 4 minute mark of the third quarter. McKinnon took momentum and the game from then on.
