We are excited to announce the signing of Adelaide Lighting WNBL player Chelsea Brook to our Senior Women’s team for the 2019 inaugural Elite League season.
The South Australian born Brook, was voted the 2018 MVP of South Australia’s Premier League competition where she played for Sturt with averages of 17ppg and 11rpg. This wasn’t the first time Brook has dominated South Australian basketball having been a staple of South Australia’s High Performance junior programs and the National Junior Championships as a teenager. Her junior career culminated with selection to represent Australia at the 2017 World University Games where she won a gold medal.
Head Coach Grant Spencer is thrilled with the potential of the 6’2 Power Forward.
“I am very excited about securing Chelsea for the 2019 Elite League season. Chelsea is a developing young athlete with huge potential. To win the South Australian Premier League MVP last season as a 19 year old is impressive.
“She has played at State, National and International level so we at Eltham are very lucky to have someone of her experience. I’m looking forward to seeing how much damage she can do in this league” Spencer said.
Chelsea is eager to join the team after the conclusion of her third WNBL season with the Adelaide Lightning.
“I am super excited about the opportunity I’ve been given to play at Eltham. I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing in a new league and the opportunity to grow as a player”.
The new Elite League is set to tip off in late March, stay tuned for more player announcements and Wildcat Membership details.
