The Eltham Wildcats are incredibly excited to announce Scott Delzoppo as our new Youth Women’s Head Coach.
Scott is a well-known fixture of Victorian Basketball. He began as a Diamond Valley Junior and worked his way all the way up to the NBL in the late 80’s early 90’s. Delzoppo’s coaching career includes numerous years as a VC level coach including one National Classic Runners-up, multiple years of coaching senior teams up to SEABL (NBL1) Level, and most recently being the Head coach for Hawthorn at the Youth Championship Women’s rank.
As a former player and current coach Delzoppo will bring a high level of experience and professionalism to the Youth Women’s team and the Eltham Wildcats coaching program.
“I feel privileged to have the opportunity to coach YLW at Eltham, a club with a long and proud basketball history.
“The club is assembling a quality coaching group amongst the juniors, youth pathway and seniors and I look forward to working with them to develop the next wave of talent at the Wildcats, said Delzoppo.”
Wildcats CEO Connor Matthews is looking forward to the newest addition to the Wildcats Senior coaching ranks.
“Scotts level of experience and talent at developing players and establishing the roots of a strong program are undeniable. We look forward to working with Scott in both the Youth Women’s program and more broadly within all aspects of the club.”
Delzoppo will hit the ground running in the coming weeks as he plans the Youth Women’s preseason schedule in preparation for the 2023 season which will tip off in late March.
