The Eltham Wildcats will hit the courts running this weekend with the grand opening of the long-awaited Montmorency Secondary College expansion.
The brand-new venue will include three new courts, a 1100 seat show court, underground car parking, canteen, function room, change rooms and office space. MSC will provide opportunities for the Club at all levels – from extra space for development programs for local talent, through to the ability to host large scale events never before possible.
The MSC expansion is the result of tireless work and advocating behind the scenes since 2016. A special thank you to former CEO Greg Jeffers & Eltham MP Vicki Ward as without their hard work and support we wouldn’t have this amazing facility. We would also like to acknowledge Montmorency Secondary College initially led by former Principal Allan Robinson for their partnership in providing one of the best sporting facilities in the region.
The venue will open Saturday morning for EDJBA Saturday Junior Domestic Competition and then host the NBL1 South double header against the Nunawading Spectres on Sunday (Women 12:30pm, Men 2:30pm). Tickets on sale now: https://elthamwildcats.nbl1.com.au/pages/nbl1-tickets. Please ensure you purchase tickets as they will sell fast. We are expecting a record crowd.
Parking:
For Sundays NBL1 games, the underground parking at the stadium will be reserved for players, staff, referees etc. So there will be no parking available to the public there.
We recommend parking in Dobson Road school car park at Montmorency Secondary College. Then walk through the school to the stadium. Alternatively, there is parking across the creek at Willinda Park (Talbot street, Greensborough). It is a 5-minute walk from there. We suggest arriving early to ensure you find space as it will be a premium. Please DO NOT park at any of the local businesses on Simms road.
