Game Two
Eltham Wildcats 76 defeated Hawthorn Magic 74
B. Waldren 19 points/5 assists, I. Bonhomme 19 points, C. Cameron 11 points
Your Eltham Wildcats faced off elimination on Saturday night in front of a sold out crowd at Eltham High School. Going into the halftime break down by 10 points the Wildcats appeared to be down and out as the Magic were rolling and making all the right plays. The Magic would start the Third period scoring 4 quick points behind a Latham dunk and a Kirksey mid range jump shot forcing the Wildcats to call a timeout 42 seconds into the quarter. The Hawthorn lead would balloon to as much as 17 points and with four minutes remaining in the game they still held a 12 point margin. The Wildcats needed a miracle and that is exactly what they got. Locking down on defence and playing the passing lanes the Magic only managed to score 2 more points in the game while a Chris Cameron 3 point shot with 12 seconds remaining would put the Wildcats up by a point. The Magic called a timeout but could not get an open shot as the Wildcats would secure the win and force Game 3 the following day at Eltham High School.

After a resilient comeback the night before the Eltham High School was a buzz on Sunday with crowds lining up and hour and half before tip off as the game would be another sell out.
