The Eltham Wildcats Senior Men have had a disappointing Game One of the Grand Final series against the Ringwood Hawks on Saturday night in front of a packed stadium at Eltham High School. Led by Ben Waldren who scored 11 points in the opening period, the Wildcats were up by 4 points going into the second quarter. From there the Hawks simply dismantled the Wildcats by playing physical defence and picking apart Eltham on the offensive end. The resilient Hawks held the Wildcats to 30% shooting from the field and scoring a massive 42 points in the paint.
Plain and simple the Wildcats need to regroup and be better come this Saturday night for Game Two at Ringwood. Eltham were the only team to beat the Hawks at home this season so they are not done yet.
