The Eltham Basketball Club is proud to announce the appointment of Connor Matthews as Chief Executive Officer.
Connor has been a long-time club member, growing up playing and coaching for the wildcats at all levels. In 2016 Connor took over the club’s Operations role which he made his own over 5 years and oversaw some substantial growth in our beginner, development, junior and senior programs. In 2021 he left his role to pursue teaching at university.
When asked about how he feels about returning to the Wildcats, this is what Connor had to say:
“I couldn’t be more excited to be back at the Wildcats. To have the opportunity to lead my childhood basketball club is an unbelievable opportunity and a great responsibility. To replace Greg Jeffers is a mammoth task but I look forward to the challenge. With the support of our incredibly strong office and volunteer base, I believe we are positioned very well for the future. I look forward to getting in touch with all the old and new faces around the club in the coming weeks!”
President Peter Meehan believes the new CEO will hit the ground running.
“Connor is the perfect replacement for Greg [previous CEO] as he has an intimate understanding of the workings of the Club. I am looking forward to working with Connor as the Club continues to grow.”
With our new Montmorency stadium on the way and Connor leading the charge, we are heading into an exciting time for the club.
Connor will begin in his new role on the 19th of April.
