The Wildcats hit the road on Sunday to take on Championship favourites Keilor Thunder. The Thunder were runners up in 2018 and showed every ounce of their class against the young Wildcat group.
A 21-7 first quarter set the tempo for the game as the Thunder’s defence forced Eltham into 36 turnovers and shooting 28% from the field. The Wildcats had an improved second half as they netted 32 points.
Eltham will hit the training floor this week with much to improve on in preparation for their double header against Geelong and Casey this weekend.

Eltham have won their first two games of the season after disposing of the McKinnon Cougars on Sunday by 25 points. McKinnon started the game in a frenzy as they outscored Eltham 11-2 in the first three minutes of action. However, the Wildcats soon switched into gear as they outscored the Cougars 19-2 for the remainder of the period. From there it was all Eltham winning every quarter for the remainder of the game.
