The Eltham Wildcats would like to formally announce that Craig Stratford has been appointed as Coaching Director of the club. Craig is the current NBL1 Men’s Head Coach and has coached in Elthams VJBL program since 2015, including a National Championship with the 2017 u14 Boys side, Craig has also been selected as the Victoria Metro u18 Head Coach twice.
As those familiar with Craig will know, he is not just an incredible coach with a wealth of knowledge, but also a person of great integrity and values, whom our coaches can confidently model themselves on. Craig will help nurture a positive environment for all of our junior players and coaches, as well as developing the foundation for team success on the court.
Craig will be flanked by Leighton Lewis as Assistant Coaching Director – Leighton has been a workhorse of the Championship program for a long-time, and his dedication and skill in managing the program is invaluable to the club. Leighton is the current 18-1 Boys coach and has many years of coaching experience himself, as well as a strong history of developing young coaches within the program. We are very lucky to have two individuals of such high quality leading our program.
We look forward to releasing more information about the Wildcats Coaching Structure in the near future. In the meantime, keep an eye out for Intention to Trial forms for VJBL, as they will be released sometime next week.
