Wildcats re-sign leading scorer

We are excited to announce Ben Waldren has re-signed for the Senior Men ahead of the new senior Elite League season.

Leading the Wildcats in scoring in 2018 with 16.96 points per game, Waldren was a key contributor in Eltham’s Grand Final run. The unorthodox small forward took his game to new heights last season averaging a career best 40% from behind the three point line while turning into a terrific defensive player.

Coach Trev Lee is excited for Waldren to play a key role in the new senior Elite League this year.

“Ben is a fantastic person both on and off the court who fits our culture perfectly. He continues to improve every day and will be handful for any team to guard. Look for him to have a fantastic season this year”.

The product of Marcellin College has found a new home and love for the Wildcats community.

“It is a great club with great people, players and fans. The loudest and best home court I’ve ever experienced”.

Although the team is taking a huge step in 2019 Waldren is confident the Wildcats will be successful.

“I’m expecting big things from the team. It will be a challenge but Eltham will surprise a lot of people in 2019” he said.

You can see Ben and the Wildcats when the new Elite League tips off in late March. Stay tuned for more player announcements and Wildcat Membership details.
