The Eltham Wildcats are thrilled to announce the signing of Maggie Mulligan for the 2019 Senior Elite League Season.
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts (USA) the 6’3 Centre averaged a double-double (11.3ppg & 10.6 rpg) in her Senior Year at the University of Massachusetts and was one of the Atlantic 10’s top post players. Named Team Captain in both her Junior & Senior years Coach Grant Spencer knows this is a huge signing for the Wildcats both on and off the court.
“I’m ecstatic in securing the services of Maggie Mulligan for the 2019 Elite League season. Maggie ticked all the boxes I was looking for in filling the 5 spot. She is elite at both ends of the floor playing with high energy and will be hard to deal with for the opposition.”
“She is a proven scoring and rebounding machine averaging a double-double in both her Junior and Senior years, finishing her UMass college career with 33 double-doubles and ranked top 20 in the country. She has been a delight to deal with through the recruiting process which shows her strong character and I am looking forward to working with her this season,” said Spencer.
Mulligan has a bag of attributes she will be bringing to the Wildcats this season.
“I’m hoping to bring a big presence in the post both offensively and defensively with speed and footwork. I’ll also bring good energy for my new teammates and coaches.”
Currently playing for Eintracht Braunschweig in the DBBL (highest league) in Germany where she is averaging 12.9ppg & 9.3rpg, Maggie can’t wait to join the Wildcats in late March when her season concludes.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing how the style of play in Australia is compared to America & Germany. I’m also excited to be a part of the Eltham community and experiencing Australian life for the first time,” she said.
